Very cute post! It reminded me of a Harvest Festival song that my son used to sing when he was little that had the brilliant line “Broad Beans sleeping in their blankety beds”. Totally relate to being reincarnated as one!!

I have loads of broad beans at the allotment but they aren’t ready yet. I’m going to get some today and try the Bruschetta dish cooking the beans better then I did last year, I’ve only just found out about the double podding thing 😀 so will see if this makes them more tastier

My broad beans aren't ready yet either. Can't wait! Let me know how you get on with the bruschetta. (Also - what do you think about frozen broad beans? Whisper it, but I find they are pretty good in the meantime and are picked so young they don't need double-podding) kx

I've risked planting some plugs out this week but held a few back just in case! They're in quite a sheltered spot and we've had such a mild week.... might be too optimistic but we'll see. Have you put broad beans in?

Yes it’s going to be warming up this week, I’ve planted runner beans and French beans today. Night temperatures are above 50f so fingers crossed . I have raised beds so the soil is warm .
