Come Inside My Veg Patch
Come through the garden gate and I'll show you around my back garden plot. See what's working, what's not and help me find out how the cabbage white butterflies are getting through my brassica nets.
Welcome to my veg patch!
I’m delighted to take you on a (slightly bumbling, hand held) tour of my little plot - warts (or should that be weeds) and all.
Since it’s launch week, this tour is free to everyone. From next week, I’ll be sharing a video each month, just for paid subscribers. In these videos I’ll be offering growing tips, recipes (some will be live cookalongs), interviews with fellow cooks who are inspired by their landscape too, and taking a look at some very special kitchen gardens. So stay tuned!
To the garden!
To view the tour (7 minutes of sunflowers, courgettes and spaniels) click here.
It’s too big to upload in full, so it’s hosted in Canva (no log in required, just click the link and you’re away). And here’s a preview in the meantime:
I hope it’s useful to see what I’m growing (and failing to grow - I’m determined to be honest about what it’s really like - no filters. This isn’t Longmeadow, mores the pity.) . Do drop any ideas or questions in the comments and I’ll respond.
I absolutely loved this, Kathy, thank you for sharing your veg patch with us! Am hoping to finally get some raised beds in and ready for next year, is really lovely to see how you do things (in a way that is considerably less intimidating than our neighbours!).
Really lovely video, thank you. Would you mind sharing where your arches are from? I have something similar in my garden, a cheaper version to try out for a couple of years, but they have now rusted through and I’d like to get a more permanent replacement. Thank you, Sally
