A Christmas pressie for you

Hello you lovely lot

Are you ready? No, me neither. But I am feeling very festive as I sit here at my kitchen table with carols playing, mince pies in the oven, Christmas jumper on. And, whilst I was churning Christmas pudding ice-cream this afternoon, I had an idea that it would be nice to send a pressie to you brilliant paid subscribers to say thank you before I sign off for the break.

Because life can feel like one big subscription these days can’t it? And they can really add up. So, to those of you who pay for some of the recipes and cookery classes here, thank you. At the end of this post you’ll find a PDF of all the recipes I’ve ever written here on Tales from the Veg Patch. Which amounts to about 170. A little thank you for supporting writers like me. I’ll get weepy and gushy if I try to explain, but it’s about so much more than the cash alone and I don’t take it lightly. (Though, obviously the cash too.) So, thank you.

And if you’re here as a free subscriber, thanks to you too and, look, I get it. If I paid for every Substack I enjoyed, I’d be broke. But that you make space for my recipes in your inbox matters enormously to me and you’ll still find plenty to keep you well-fed here. Like my charred red cabbage tahini and orange fregola or fried pears, blue cheese and bitter leaves. And not forgetting my veg-filled mince pies (just the right side of odd), which you could scoff whilst listening to me reading a Christmas extract from my book, Rough Patch.
