Two recipes from my cookbook for the orchard harvest
FREE TO READ: my little orchard has done beautifully this year, so here's a warm pear salad recipe and an apple pavlova from my cookbook to celebrate.
I’m away at the moment
So I’m happy to share two lovely recipes from my cookbook, From the Veg Patch, with you to celebrate the terrific harvest I’ve had from my little orchard this year.
I say ‘orchard’…
But that makes it seem a bit grander than the reality, which is a few miniature trees crammed in at the bottom of the garden between the veg beds and the compost bins.
Still, it’s enough to have produced several kilos of apples this year and that is something to be glad of.
So here are two recipes to celebrate the bounty.
Fried Pears, Blue Cheese and Bitter Leaves
Apple Butterscotch and Hazelnut Pavlova with Boozy Cream
And as usual, you’ll find a recipe card for both here:
Love the sound of the pear salad- am just heading back to Italy where I hope ( forlornly ) that the wild boar will not have snaffled all the walnuts and the pears.. Such a great combination!
