Thanks to everyone who joined me for a canapé in the greenhouse kitchen today. We proved that making nibbles to go with Christmas drinks needn’t mean vol au vents and Margot Leadbetter meltdowns. And it doesn’t have to be a faff (or a greasy cocktail sausage).
We made:
Beetroot bites with trout or cream cheese
Buttered pears with sage and prosciutto
Kale crunchies
Quince and manchego slices

Beetroot Bites
Combine equal amounts of honey and vinegar. Dice a raw beetroot very finely and add to the pickling liquid. Leave for 15 minutes.
